Ways You Can Bring Hope This Summer: Donations and More

It's been a busy summer out in Iquitos. Our summer motorcycle benefit ride has just come to a close, and once again, we are reminded of how beautiful Peru is. From Cusco to Colca Canyon and Machu Picchu, there truly is nowhere like this amazing place.

Check the video below to see some highlights! And remember, we still have a space or two left for our ride in November, so if you're interested, sign up here.

We are happy to announce that we have just reached the $50,000 mark on our DonorSee page.

Over the last nine months, we have been utilizing this amazing platform to help us raise the funds needed for our major and minor projects--from the hospital, to water filters, to supporting our sponsored student midwife in Ghana, Ellen.

That's 50,000 dollars from you, our amazing supporters, to bring HOPE to Iquitos and beyond. We are so grateful!

If you'd like to learn more about what we've been raising money for over on our page, you can watch some of the videos below and follow the links to donate. We have a few projects right now that are close to meeting their goals, so go ahead and take a look. If you can't donate right now, we always appreciate your shares and support--the more people get the word out, the more people we can help!

Here's what we're up to at the moment:

  1. Nurse Midwife on the Move

Ellen has been given an incredible opportunity to work at a hospital in another city for the upcoming academic cycle, where she will gain invaluable experience in a specialized clinical program that is not offered in her hometown. To help make this journey possible, we are raising funds to cover her shared apartment expenses with fellow students, as well as her food and transportation costs during this critical period. Your support can make a significant difference in her life. Ellen is an extraordinary young woman, and as our only international student from outside of Peru, she represents a unique and inspiring presence in her community.

You can also support Ellen's journey here.

  2. Help Send Cliff to Iquitos!

Those of you who know Cliff know that he's an amazing human being. He has volunteered with us in the past and has produced some of the phenomenal videos that you see in our video library. We want to bring Cliff back to Iquitos to help provide the world with the videos that truly spread our message even further.

  3. Water Filters!

We still have $2300 left to reach our water filter project goal--but to put that into perspective, just $50 covers the cost of a filter for a family of about 5, for anywhere from 5-8 years. Those of you who have been involved with the organization for a while will know that this is one of our biggest projects, besides the hospital, and it provides a necessary and basic right: clean water.

Our DonorSee, like our main donation page, has a number of amazing projects live right now. You can donate to the hospital fund, to the dental facility, or even become a monthly supporter.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be highlighting some of the incredible impact stories from Iquitos right here on the blog, as well as on our social media. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram and on Facebook for regular updates.

As always, we appreciate every one of our donors and supporters. Thank you for being the hope for the people who need it the most.
